The German African Business Association, along with the German Economy Delegation in Nigeria and the Nigerian-German Business Association, is pleased to invite you to the 4th German-Nigerian Business Forum. The German-Nigerian Business Forum is going to take place from the 14th to the 15th July 2011 in Abuja in parallel with the Nigerian state visit of the chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and the German Chancellor will speak at the forum.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria is one of the most important trading partners to Germany. Nigeria has the largest oil production in Africa and owns extensive gas reserves - about 80% of public revenues and over 90% of export revenues are inapplicable in the mineral oil and gas sector, and its extraction is planned to be intensified. Due to the strengthened oil price, the economic prospects will be very convenient this year. As in 2010 a real growth of the gross domestic product of 7.4 percent is assumed for 2011.
All other sectors have been growing constantly over the last few years as well, a trend that should carry on in the future. Through increasing diversifications the investment climate for German companies has also improved in many other sectors. One of the challenges for the new government since April 2011 could be creating basic economic conditions through deregulation, privatization and more transparency.
The conference offers Nigerian and German companies the opportunity to network with a large number of high ranking representatives, not only from public but also from private sectors.
